Roatan Liveaboard Vacations

Imagine a luxury liveaboard diving vacation on board our custom built 47 foot sailboat, Zeppelin.  Enjoy valet diving from our dive launch with our onboard PADI Instructors and Dive Master acting as your personal guides. The unique experience we provide is small groups, maximum of 4 guests, liveaboard sailing, snorkeling, diving and land adventures discovering the islands of Roatan, Guanaja and Cayos Cochinos. Each area we explore has different topography and distinct ecosystems and we take our guests to places that are seen by very few visitors.

If your priority is sailing and exploring Roatan and the Bay Islands of Honduras, our liveaboard adventure sailing charters offer you some of the most pristine, untouched islands in the Caribbean. We will sail to nearby islands, moor in the most pristine coral waters surrounded by lush vegetation and the songs of local birds, and in the distance you can hear the waves gently rolling in over the spectacular coral reefs.

The island of Roatan is about 30 miles long and 2 miles wide with a high mountainous ridge running down the center of the island along with a barrier reef surrounding the entire north shore, most of the east end and some of the south side. Roatan is the largest of the island group and the center of the tourist industry, with an international airport located on the island. The reefs here are part of the Mesoamerican barrier reef system which starts in the Yucatan of Mexico and extends all the way down the coast past Belize to the Bay islands. It is the 2nd largest reef in the world after the Australian Great Barrier Reef.

Think of this luxury liveaboard vacation as having your own private yacht with staff … healthy meals prepared to your preferences and served on deck while you relax, feeling the tropical breezes and gazing over the tranquil blue waters…. that is how you will be pampered.

All the details are taken of on your liveaboard holiday… all you have to do is arrive!

Our Yacht SV Zeppelin

SV Zeppelin

Zeppelin is a flush deck, center cockpit sloop, measuring 47 feet overall with 15 feet of beam. She is constructed in fiberglass with an Airex cored hull and balsa cored deck and is of immensely strong offshore construction. The combination of the wide beam and center cockpit design provides a large, comfortable living space and the flush deck makes for a terrific working and playing platform. The design also gives us three sleeping cabins, two heads both with showers, a large galley and spacious main saloon. The cockpit is partially enclosed by a custom designed fixed windshield with side glass panels and hard top and can be fully enclosed by canvas, with plastic or screened panels. This provides protection from the sun, wind, rain and spray making her comfortable in all sea conditions.

Onboard systems include a 3000 watt inverter/charger; a 5.5 KW diesel generator; and two solar panels so electrical power is never a problem. We also have a 25 gallon per hour reverse osmosis water maker driven by the generator, so no shortage of water for showers and equipment rinsing. For our scuba diving guests we have a dive compressor, tanks, weights and all necessary dive gear. There is also a dive and snorkel platform on the stern with fresh water shower and boarding ladder. We have a full suite of navigational and safety electronics and a 32 inch LED TV with sound bar system and Blu-Ray player for CDs and DVDs, as well as over 1500 movies on computer hard drive for evening entertainment. There is a cellular wifi router for internet connection almost everywhere we go. Miscellaneous equipment includes all the required safety gear; a large propane bar-b-que; and water toys including two stand up paddleboards; and an 11 foot tandem Ocean kayak.

Our tender Scuba Libre is a 21 foot fiberglass launch with an 85HP outboard engine, custom built for 4 divers plus 2 crew, to provide comfort & speed for quick access to multiple dive sites. She has a full fixed bimini cover to provide shelter from sun & rain and a mid-ships boarding ladder to make it easy to get onboard in rough seas.

Accommodations onboard Zeppelin

The sleeping accommodations on Zeppelin consist of 3 cabins, including a large master cabin with full queen size bed, vanity, drawers for clothes and ensuite bathroom; a passageway cabin with 2 bunk beds and shelving for clothes; and a forward cabin with a double berth, drawers for clothes, and ensuite bathroom. Cabins are assigned based on the number of guests and whether the group is singles or couples. All the cabins have fans & opening hatches with screens so there is good ventilation. The cabins are separate from the main living space and you can close the doors for privacy. Guests share the 2 bathrooms.
